There are things in the Build engine that the DOOM engine is not capable of, so porting in the direction of converting from the new to the old is sort of weird to do, and not always effective. Yeah, also DOOM II doesn't support the angled floors/ceilings, either, don't forget that, among other things. If any one knows of such a tool, I want it too : ). You would also probably need a third utility to build the nodes and their related structures.
